Dave Gallant, Principal
On the recommendation of a college roommate who had previously worked with FVSD, Dave accepted a teaching position and a northern adventure. After 19 years, he is still enjoying life here in the region along with his wife and three school age daughters. Now an educator for nearly two decades, as a child, Dave wanted to become an astronaut. His favorite subject in school was English/ELA and all the exciting stories that are out there to read and the ones yet to be created.
“We have monthly house team challenges and monthly spirit assemblies, and parents enjoy coming to join in the festivities. Christmas concert is also a fun time for parents, and it's nice to bring our school community together!”
Dave MacDougall, Assistant Principal
Originally looking to move to Peace River, Dave took his Quebec school division up on their offer to pay for a move to FVSD. Peace River was quickly forgotten and 29 years later, Dave has made northwestern Alberta home. As a child, Dave wanted to be a lobster fisherman when he grew up but chose to teach instead. In school his favorite class was law, although that was due in large part to the teacher, Mr. Gilliam.
“I am looking forward to having construction past us, so our community can start using the school as it was always intended.”
