Dave Gallant, Principal
On the recommendation of a college roommate (who is now a co-worker within FVSD), Dave moved north 18 years ago from St. John, New Brunswick. Dave and his wife had a 2-3 year plan in mind on arriving to the region and three daughters, a dog and a house later are still here! Dave currently holds the position of Principal at BHCS.
The long spring days and seemingly endless summer sunlight as well as the vibrant northern lights are some of Dave’s favorite things about living in our region.
“Blue Hills Community School is undergoing a major renovation that will see the addition of a new gym, shop and classrooms! It is very exciting for the students, staff and school community. I'm also looking forward to getting to know all the students and their families.”
David MacDougall, Assistant Principal
Originally from PEI, David moved to Alberta in 2000 and has since put down permanent roots. Prior to joining FVSD, David worked in a fly-in only village in Arctic Quebec. With enough money saved to move his family to Alberta and hoping to settle in Peace River, David was offered a position at BHPS and plans changed. David taught Grade 9 at BHPS and is currently in his fourth year at BHCS where he is Assistant Principal.
For David and his family, Alberta is home and moving north was the best decision of his life! A vibrant and growing region, opportunities here are endless for someone with initiative.
“Giving back to a community that has done a lot for me and my family over the years” is something David is looking forward to this coming school year.
